Kati Schantz, PA-C
Kati Schantz, PA-C has been a board-certified Physician Assistant since 2010. She earned her undergraduate degree from St. John’s University majoring in Biology, minoring in English while competing as a Division I Soccer athlete. She then returned to St. John’s University to complete her degree in Physician Assistant Studies.
Kati obtained her first full time employment from the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City specializing in Orthopedic Medicine and part time at Lincoln Medical Center specializing in Emergency Medicine. While at the Hospital for Special Surgery, Kati worked on the Core, Hand, and Sports Medicine services helping surgeons and treating patients at an elite level.
After four years at HSS, she moved to Boston to work at Massachusetts General Hospital in the Orthopedic Sports Medicine department with Matthew Provencher, MD and Mark Price, MD. Her responsibilities included not only patient care, collaboration in research, but also involvement with the medical and surgical care of the Superbowl Champion New England Patriots. She was an Adjunct Professor for the MGH IHP PA school and is still involved with their PA education currently.
Her skills and orthopedic knowledge helped her to obtain a position as a Clinical Specialist with MedInc of Texas, LLC, an Arthrex Agency. Kati streamlined the creation of an education program designed for employees of MedInc of Texas. She taught the safe and effective use of Arthrex products in procedure-specific surgical and non surgical situations using Arthrex instrumentation not only in a didactic but also a cadaveric setting. While at MedInc of Texas she was promoted to Senior Clinical Specialist, earned Medical Education Agency of the year in 2020 and Regional Medical Education Agency of the year for the Central Region in 2023.
Outside of medical care, Kati enjoys participating in outside sports like flag football, soccer, volleyball, and hiking/backpacking with her golden retriever, Harley.
